"Take my mandolin, he prompted. "You've got to have a good mandolin to play if you're performing." I reluctantly took the mandolin, even though I already had one I liked. I knew it was just a ruse to get me to see him again, but it worked. I came back with the mandolin and then stayed for a long while. Our songs are a reflection of our journey together. Sometimes it is spectacular drive along Lake Michigan on a fall day but there are times it is a long drive down a bumpy, dusty road with no air conditioning. The music captures everything. It is never a dull ride.
